Data Processing Addendum

This Data Processing Addendum ("DPA") applies when you purchase a featured placement through Peekscribe and we process personal data on your behalf, especially reader contact flow submissions. It supplements the Featured Placement Agreement, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy.

1. Roles

For reader contact flow data on your publication, you are generally the data controller and Peekscribe acts as your data processor. We process that data only to operate the publication, deliver submissions to you, and secure the platform.

2. Processing Instructions

We process personal data only on your documented instructions as set out in the Featured Placement Agreement and this DPA, including to host the publication, operate the reader contact flow, forward submissions to you, and maintain logs needed for security and support.

3. Data Processed

Reader contact flow data may include:

  • email address;
  • answers and free-text responses;
  • submission timestamps and basic technical metadata.

4. Confidentiality and Security

We require personnel with access to personal data to keep it confidential and we implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data.

5. Subprocessors

We use service providers to host, secure, email, register domains, and process payments, including infrastructure providers, email delivery providers, domain registrars, DNS providers, and Dodo Payments. We remain responsible for subprocessors that process personal data on our behalf.

6. Data Subject Requests and Assistance

If we receive a privacy request relating to reader data you control, we will notify you and reasonably assist you in responding, unless applicable law requires us to act directly.

7. Breach Notification

If we become aware of a personal data breach affecting reader contact flow data we process for you, we will notify you without undue delay and, where feasible, within seventy-two (72) hours of becoming aware of it, with information reasonably available to help you meet your obligations.

8. Retention and Deletion

We retain reader contact flow data as needed to operate your publication and as described in our Privacy Policy. When your featured placement ends or you request deletion of reader submissions we store, we will delete or return that data within a reasonable period unless retention is required by law or for dispute resolution.

9. International Transfers

Where personal data is transferred internationally, we implement appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.
